A NEW ETERNITY

Dave Anderson, Lead Pastor

We all look forward to that day when we get to go to heaven, right? Except, according to the book of Revelation, we don’t go to heaven — heaven come to us. This week Pastor Dave will help us understand how this adjustment in our understanding of eternity has profound impact on the lives we live today.

SERMON FOLLOW-UP QUESTIONS:

1. Describe how you have envisioned heaven. Why do you think you pictured it that way?
2. Read Revelation 21:1-3. How does the idea that heaven will "come to us" rather than us "going to" heaven change your perspective of eternity?
3. John describes our eternal heaven as being a city. Talk about how that changes your idea of eternity.
4. Read Revelation 21:5. God says that He is making "all things new", not that He is making "new things." Being that our God is the God of restoration - share with the group the ways that God has made you new.
5. If heaven is a place where God makes everything new, we can experience heaven even new when God makes something (someone) new. With this in mind, how might that alter your approach to reaching the lost?
6. Pastor Dave challenged us to pick one person to intentional love into heaven this summer. Who is your person? What are the challenges you think you might face? What will be your first step?

STEP 2: FIND FREEDOM

ROOM 109 | 12:00p | LUNCH & CHILDCARE PROVIDED

No matter where you are at on your journey, Lifetrack is the FIRST step that we encourage you to participate in here at Kankakee First Church. This is where you will learn about WHO we are as a church, WHAT we believe, and HOW we are structured to help you along your spiritual journey.  Lifetrack is a four-step process that helps you discover your redemptive purpose and live the life God created for you. You will learn more about who we are as a church and who God has created you to be.
